JACOB PUMPS WATER BACK INTO LINDO LAKE
Lakeside residents will once again be able to enjoy a full Lake

Lakeside - Chairwoman Dianne Jacob announced today a plan to immediately begin refilling Lindo Lake to full capacity.

The water level had dropped because of a high evaporation rate caused by high summer temperatures, lack of rainfall and a broken water pump at the well.

Jacob became aware of the problem in mid-June, after a Lakeside resident complained of dangerously low water levels. Jacob then took immediate action to restore water to the lake.

"I was prepared to do everything in my power to meet the community's request of refilling Lindo Lake. This lake is a vital part of Lakeside and it should be available year round," said Jacob.

The Lindo Lake project will cost approximately $27,000, which will go toward purchasing 60 acre feet of untreated water from the Helix Water District, who will begin pumping water into Lindo Lake this afternoon.

To insure that Lindo Lake never drops to these low levels, a second well will be drilled and operable in four weeks.
