A San Diego native and the Second District’s resident equestrian, Amber is Supervisor Jacob’s policy advisor on housing, economic development, airports, air pollution control, environmental health, animal services and Community Development Block Grants, a federal grant program that over the years has contributed millions of dollars to community projects in the Second District. In addition, Amber assists the supervisor with monthly “community coffee” meetings and the County's Community Revitalization program, a unique partnership that pairs community leaders with County experts to beautify and improve neighborhoods at the grassroots level. Amber has a master's degree in public administration from San Diego State University and is bilingual in Spanish. She is an avid rock climber and enjoys salsa and ballroom dancing.
